Who is Jamal Malik?

Jamal Malik was a child who did not have a good luck in the development of his childhood, along with his brother lived in the streets of the city, they tried to get ahead as they could, until he finds work on television as an assistant, where he manages to win a contest called who wants to be a millionaire? At eighteen years. However he is accused to cheating.

It is here when a certain part of stereotype created in society is noticed, since being a person who did not have studies or any recognition he is considered unsuitable to win competitions of this type, leaving aside empirical knowledge if it really exists in life.

But the curious thing about this film and even the most entertaining is that he tries to show that this accusations are not true, and how does he do it? He decides to tell his story from his childhood and now youth to emphasize how he knew the answers to the questions being asked on the show, all thanks to experience.

It is as he reveals that he is a young man full of knowledge and intelligence in such a bold way, he teaches us that it is not good to judge besides giving more reflective advice like never giving up, it is surely a film that I would recommend for all audiences especially because of this character Jamal that despite his bad luck takes the right path improving his life.

Culture and Love

There’s a great range of cultures in the world therefore there are so many different customs and traditions out there that is basically impossible to count them, one would think that this would meaning there are thousand difference among us and of course that’s true but at the same time in the basics we are all the same. We are all humans and we all are able to feel and think, what differ is our background and that has huge influences on the way we act upon our feelings and the way we think our approach situations in life. This could be illustrated in movies were realities of other countries are exposed through the story being narrated. For example Slumdog millionaire is an excellent representation of the deepest emotions also known as love and the culture of a person.

Slumdog Millionaire demonstrates that it doesn’t matter if you’re French, British, American or Indian because when you fall in love you don’t fall in love with the nationality of a person  but rather than the person itself and who she/he is. We saw the love story of Latika and Jamal and we all are able to relate at some level, we are able to relate because we all have loved someone so in that sense it doesn’t matter the culture since we all are able to relate to the primary thing of having feelings.

Was love the exceptional ingredient for Slumdog millionaire?

Slumdog millionaire, the movie of an underdog that manages to win. Out there are many movies that can illustrate this type of scenario that is actually quite predictable since even the Disney movies somehow the heroes always are sort of underdogs and who have to dealt with so many obstacles that you just think “hey there’s no way they can win” but you just know they’re definitely going to succeed in whatever task they must face, it’s almost like it’s they’re fate that drives them to win. 

And even though we must have watched at least 10 movies in that line, we still continue to watch more; that’s mainly because we love underdogs and we are able to sympathize with them and see the potential in them sometimes we even end up projecting ourselves in them which in turn gives us hope as an income and that of course keeps us watching.  Slumdog millionaire falls into this category especially because at the same time tells a story of love, the impossible love between Jamal and Latika. Like the rest of their lives they have to work harder than anyone they know to be together, but that’s just their luck.

They almost give up on their love, and yet when you least expected it, the movie takes a twist that allows them to be together then again it will seem that fate it’s on their side. 

Yet it wouldn’t seem that an impossible love it’s the secret ingredient for the movie, honestly it probably it’s more related to the fact that it’s not a cheesy love story, the story focus on other topics and represent different realities at the same time giving it a more realistic sense.
